In community album: Halloween
That movie It has always stuck with me. I have read many Stephen King novels and this one has always lingered in my mind with fear. I however did get a little desencitized to him because of staring at many pictures of him at all angles. I tried a new technique for me and that was the spun sugar for his hair (I used a homemade cotton candy recipe for if you don't have a machine). He is all edible.

Thanks! He was fun to figure out! I was only worried about his hair melting off before the party. I had to do it the day of the party.

I used a wilton 3D skull cake pan for the structure and a football cake for shaving off bits to fill in his face. I used chocolate clay to make ridges for his eyebrows , lips and nose. I had to build extra chin on him so I could have enough room to make his mouth gape open. Then I laid the fondant over it all and mahe him some eyeballs with candy melts. Drilled holes in them so I could string some LED lights through his head into his eyes. and made that hair(messy!)

too. scared. to. look....Pennywise has always freaked me out. The book was scary but thanks to Tim Curry the movie was even scarier... excellent job, it looks just like him... shudder... (curls up in the fetal position)

No problem! I have a 2 layer 8inch cake under my head cake and supported it with dowels as well as having a sharpened dowel going through the top of his head into the bottom cake board .

To purplemosy, I couldn't even look straight at the images I had printed out for a while!

That is so horribly cool! I don't think I'd be able to eat any of it because I would be terrified of having him in my belly - that's how good he looks!! :)
sliceofheaven1 10/25/11 at 5:21am
Tim Curry definitely played his part well as a terrifying clown! Don't think my cake would be nearly as scary if he hadn't been so freaky in that movie!
