Thanks, all! carmijok: the most time consuming part of this cake was trying to figure out a decent pattern for the mosaic. I'm happy with how this one came out. :) tarabara: dots are RI painted gold.

OMG! You painted all those dots gold? It's beautiful, I'm a newbie to cake decorating and am curious as to how long this cake took. It takes me 8 hours to do simple things! 8O

I knew I had to work quickly because of the cc, so I made the mosaic pieces the night before and laid out the pattern. It took me about an hour and a half to glue the pieces, pipe and paint..

This is simply stunning!! What are the mosaic pieced made of? What mold did you use?
