In album: chocolate
I've probably done more of these cakes than anything else; devil's food cake with chocolate almond buttercream. How can you go wrong with chocolate dipped strawberries? ;-)

Your writing is perfect! Do you mind if I ask ... Did you write directly or was it written and then transferred to the cake?
LisaMS 1/24/06 at 3:56pm
Thank you all. Price, I always write directly on the cake. I think if you let the icing kind of fall on the cake as you are moving your hands (rather than holding the tip too close to the cake) it does better, if that makes sense. I always use a #3 tip.

is that chocolate ganache drizzed on the sides of the cake? This looks so good!
mjones17 1/25/06 at 3:35am
What buttercream recipe do you use?
LisaMS 1/25/06 at 4:22am
The drippings are done from melted semi sweet chocolate chips with a tad of shortening to thin; buttercream is a variation of Wilton's; crisco, blue bonnet margarine, vanilla and almond extracts with just 2 TB cocoa powder for 2 lbs conf. sugar.

Thanks for sharing!!! Looks wonderful! The choco boarder adds sooo much!

Yummy!!! Please tell me how you get the drippings so perfect.
LisaMS 1/25/06 at 5:09pm
Just move your bag in a continous cursive "m" motion Bubbles. Not hard; just takes a little practice.
