My first stars decorated cake, all with buttercream. I used my favorite tip: #233 for the grass. I did not want to buy a ball pan and thought that it would work with pyrex bowl... It was flat... And I had to find the patterns on the internet, print them, etc. I since bought a ball pan (with all the patterns included!) and it works great!
