This is a picture my first wedding cake. It is Ivory buttercream frosting with BC roses and fondant swags. The only request that the bride made was for the colors, she left the design up to me. I wasn't sure how the fondant swags would look with the buttercream, but all in all I thought it turned out okay. The bride was very pleased with it so I guess that is considered a success. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I can always use advice on bettering myself.

I think you did a great job on the swags. Did you sprinkle the roses with a luster dust or somehing, how did you get them so shiny?

Your Cake looks great i really like the swag! What did you use for the Ivory color?

Thank you for the positive remarks, I really appreciate them. I did use luster dust on the roses and I use Wilton Ivory color for the coloring. I really hope that I won't have to use red EVER again. This was the first time I used red in the five months that I've been decorating and I wouldn't be upset at all if I never used it again!!

Good job! The swags work--I never would have thought to use them on buttercream, but they looks good. Your roses are lovely, too

This cake looks lovely! I'm glad to see the fondant swags on buttercream, I have to do something similar for a wedding in April and was concerned about how to get the fondant drapes to stick to the buttercream. Great job!!
