Thanks everyone! This was fun to do! I made the towers in advance. They are papertowel rolls and ice cream cones covered in fondant, then pressed with an impression mat to get the stone look. Took a little bit of planning to get the towers to be sturdy. I used royal icing to "glue" wooden cake dowels on the inside of the towers that sit on top of the cake and made a hole in the cake board that the top cake sits on. did you use different colors of luster dust or did you just use pearl on all of it??
I used super pearl on the white parts, rose on the pink, brown on the doors, and silver gray on the bench.
that's what I was afraid of......LOL I was hoping I could get away with dusting a whole cake with one color!!
