Diane, I made this from gum paste using sunflower/gerbera plunger cutterrs. The leaves, I made it too by draw it on parchment paper, trace them on green colored gumpaste, then cut it with "ruffle" pastry cutter.

I would love to know how you did the gathering (ruching) on the side of the cake. I have to do this for a wedding cake in January and have been looking at different techniques. yours is beautiful!

Hello LisaStephens, thank u for your lovely comment :-) I did the swags using tutorial from cakecentral too here is the link: (...) It is not as easy if you want to make a big swags like my cake, small is easier, the key is to leave it about 2 - 5 mins before you took the dowels or skewers off fondant, put water on your cake , gather the swag together, pinch on each site , quickly but carefully put it on your cake and secure the edges. HTH :-)
