I covered this cake in a pale aqua fondant. Then I stenciled on the pattern, and topped it with a single gumpaste flower. My husband and I share space, so we keep a little area set up to photograph the cakes before they are delivered.
Hi cfpeoples. I am so blessed that my husband is an amazing photographer, so he shoots a lot of my cakes for me. I got the stand years ago when I was in Phoenix at a charity event. It came in a set of three, and I use them all the time. I paid $15.00 for the whole set! The only other time I have ever seen them was in a hospital gift shop. I wish I would of snatched them up at the gift shop!
Thank you DonnaOK for sharing pictures of your beautiful and unique cakes and cupcakes. You are truly a cake artist. I can see how much time and attention to detail you put into all your work!
When you say you stenciled the design, do you mean you imprinted it then piped it? I love the design of this one--probably my favorite so far and I think I've saved every one of your photos that I've seen into my faves!
Thank you ladies so much. I actually purchased a stencil that is the design that goes around the top. It is from Designer stencils. I did go back over it and pipe so that I would have more of a "bead" look if that makes sense. Tara, on the flower I took my little ceramic ruffle tool and pinched the edges with it as it was drying. I continue to do it while it is in the drying stage to keep the shape. The ribbon under the flower I used a taffeta roller on that I have had for years to just give it so...
