yea the ruffle is layer by layer- just take a strip of fondant and fold over one edge, then wrap around the cake. Just keep layering until you cover the whole side :)

So elegant, How big are the tiers on this cake? Are the circles on the flower were they round or ribbed?

The flower is circle cutouts of gumpaste that I ruffled with a ball tool. The tiers are small- 6 and 8 inch.
