Thanks guys :) I just use the standard crusting crisco-based buttercream recipe that everyone else on here uses,lol..I ice my cakes as smooth as possible first and I use a scraper alot to smooth with- then I hit it with a viva paper towel after it crusts up and again I use a scraper with the paper towel. Edna De La Cruz has a great short little video on you-tube about icing a cake smooth- I ice my cakes exactly like her- it's worth searching for and watching! t
