This cake is my homage to Pairiedog whose original jewel-like cake far surpasses any lame attempt on my part. When I showed Prairiedog's cake photo to a dear friend who is coping with chemotherapy, she exclaimed it was the most beautiful she'd ever seen so i felt compelled to at least try to give her this jewel. It's vanilla butter cake with strawberry buttercream filling, chocolate ganache undercoat with white chocolate fondant. Gumpaste roses, white chocolate fondant pearls and hydrangea flowers all pearlized.
