A cake I made for my mother's 61st birthday. She's an avid quilter. What I learned from making this: if I ever make another quilt cake, I will assemble the block first then put it on the cake. It was difficult trying to match up the edges and make a square - so I had to change my design a little. - Vanilla cake with Vanilla Custard and homemade MMF.
