Sockeye Salmon Birthday Cake For A Fisherman
This Sockeye Salmon (otherwise known as RED Salmon) cake was for an avid fisherman's birthday. In fact, he was going Sockeye Salmon fishing the next day! Cake flavor was lemon with raspberry buttercream filling ..covered in vanilla buttercream and fondant. This was tons of fun using all the texture mats to achieve the proper effects. I freehand carved the fish and also made the fish eye from Isomalt. Finished cake was 26" long.
Although I am not a big fan of cooking and in general I am a lousy cook, I sometimes like to watch cooking video guides on YouTube or read articles on this topic on the Internet.
