This cake was a nightmare with bulges that about killed me. At one point I had to scrape off all of the icing on both cakes and start over. The border is way too thick, I know, but it covered some of my cake disaster. The topper was provided by the bride, which I think takes away from the cake. The cake is buttercream. The birds and branches are fondant/gum paste.
