This cake was for a baby shower. They loved the Magnolia Baby Shower cake I did for the Connecticut Cake Competition and wanted a similar themed cake. Hibiscus flowers have special meaning to the expectant couple, so we chose them for our decor. They wanted to keep it gender neutral so I did the pale yellow cake with red, orange and yellow gumpaste Hibiscus flowers. I airbrushed the cake so it would shimmer a bit in the sunlight and painted the wings on the baby with edible gold dust (the baby was made with the First Impressions mold).
