I made this one for a friend's son who is very into robots. She specifically requested I do it 2-dimensional (because she was worried about knowing how to cut a 3D cake) but I REALLY wanted to try a standing or sitting robot. Maybe next time. I was happy with how it came out, despite that it was just 2D, and it was relatively easy to make. Just a bunch of square and bunt pants and a bit of time to figure out the 'gears' and other detail pieces. The coil at the top was one of my favorite elements (wrapped gumpaste around a bendy straw and let it dry overnight). And, you can't see it in this picture, but I did the feet sticking up (perpendicular to the legs), which were hard to keep on (and vertical) probably because I used a very soft and moist chocolate cake for this one (since I knew it was going to be 2D).
