This is a cake I made for my son who just got a new job to study the Desert Tortoise and will become a certified Desert Tortoise Biologist. He wanted me to make a cake for his going away party. The body of the tortoise is cake, covered in a marbled fondant of white and brown. The legs and head are rice krispie treat, to give the scaly texture. I dusted it to give the legs dimension. The eyes are dragees that i partially covered, and the back claws are chocolate sprinkles.
