This was my first wedding type cake that I recently made for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary--it was based on their original wedding cake. The original was only 3 tiers, but this one needed to be bigger since there were more people present at their anniversary party. Each tier is four layers of a vanilla cream cake brushed with a raspberry syrup and Chambord. The cake is filled with a raspberry cream filling and the cake is iced and decorated in almond butter cream.
