Hi Ladies! I'm sorry but I do not have a template for the shoe. I actually used a real shoe as reference and freehand cut the top piece and the piece at the back of the shoe.It took a few tries but I was able to trim up the pieces to fit just right. For the sole of the shoe I actually had a new pair of shoes (just for this purpose) that I took completely apart and I traced the sole of the shoe onto card stock and used that as a template. Once I figure out how to work my scanner I will scan and put in the
template directory for all to use. For the heel, I simply used a wooden cake dowel and wrapped the gumpaste around it and kinda shape the top part to look like the heel on the real shoe. I highly suggest going out and getting a real shoe (a cheap one!!) that you can take apart and use as a template for all your shoe cakes. I hope that helps. .
Hi! i made a stencil using a pic i found online. I printed on card stock and I used an exacto knife to cut and then airbrushed over the card stock. Next time I'll def. use stencil paper!
If you don't mind...how did you dry the sole? That is MY problem..I don't have a great way to 'dry' the sole. Do you have any suggestions that you wouldn't mind sharing? :) lhoward@sassytiers.com...THANK YOU!!!
Beautiful!!!! and I know exactly what you mean about the time spent in a cake like this...talking by experience they're soooo much time consuming!! oh, but the results are well worth it, you did an awesomeeeee job!!!
