In: Spiderman Cake in album: Children's Birthday Cakes
A Spiderman cake for a special little boy: classic chocolate cake filled with cookies 'n cream buttercream and milk chocolate ganache. 8" and 6" rounds, 3.5" square. 3D Spiderman topper is made out of gumpaste. Note: this was my first time using Satin Ice fondant (blue tier), and I have to say that I really dislike it. Had lots of problems with tearing and wrinkles (even with added shortening and glycerine). Kudos to those CC users who can use this product successfully! I think I'll stick to making my own.

Thanks! Others seem to have no problems using SI, so maybe it was just a bad batch.

Fantastic spiderman cake! Perfect. I had the same problem with SI blue and one of their pinks. I'll stick with their white and just color it myself.

Thanks for the nice comments! Yes, the webs are made of RI (note: make LOTS of extras, as these break so easily!)

Awesome, awesome job.

I think the problems come in with the satin ice when they add coloring to it. For some reason it makes it really dry even when you add shortening.
