I loved the simplicity of this big cake. I did thick double-layers of cake inside, instead of the regular triple-layers. (They were only serving it as a midnight dessert item, with so much other food.)
Iced in IMBC with ivory fondant behind the champagne-coloured satin ribbon on each tier.
Gorgeous!
Oh my gosh! This is SO classy and elegant! Just incredible! I hope someday I can create something as beautiful!
Beautiful! I'm so envious on how smooth your cakes always look!
Lovely. Doing an unadorned cake is much more difficult that one with lots of flowers etc. The simplicity is just elegant
gorgeous! i'm sure you had one happy bride!
Thanks! I can't stop staring at the slightly shorter 12" tier. :x (6"/8"/10"/12"/14")
Sounds like you are an absolute perfectionist which is why your cakes are so amazing!
It's beautiful! Your plateau is almost too big for the table they gave you! Perfection as always
Exquisite - just absolutely beautiful - love it!!
It's not a table Flourgrl...it's a rolling cart. The cake is being wheeled out later that night, not displayed. (Little kids at the wedding, they were a bit afraid to keep it out all night.)
Oh I see.....still - it's so beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! I knew this was one of yours! Simplicity at its best for sure!
Like the oldest of my three likes to say "It's gohgeous!" It truly is beautiful! How in the world do you assemble something like this and keep it flawless?
absolutely beautiful!! It is just stunning and perfect. ;-D
I chill the cakes overnight and only assemble on-site. It prevents any damage in transport, etc.
How do you keep from having grease stains on your ribbon?
behind the ribbon is rolled fondant. It's white chocolate fondant and can go in the fridge without resulting in condensation, so I put it around the cake first and laid the ribbon overtop upon assembly only.
