This is the show piece myself and two teammates created in a 2 day, 16 hour long, live cake challenge for the Celebration of Cakes show in Arizona. Our theme had elements representing Arizona: cattle, citrus, cotton, climate and copper as we included a cactus, the Grand Canyon and the logo sign. It was over 7 feet tall, had over 200 servings of cake, 7 1/2 jumbo bags of rice cereal, 42 bags of marshmallows to make the rice krispie treats, 60lbs of fondant, 30 lbs of buttercream, cotton candy, gum paste and styrofoam parts for the sun and mountains. The top pick ax rotated inside the pile of copper. We placed 2nd overall because of a deduction based on a technicality due to the fact that we didn't have enough cake to the ratio of styrofoam.
