My nephew was having a "Pirate Party" for his 4th birthday. This cake was a HUGE success! I used a 12x18 sheet cake and cut and stacked it to appear as though the lid were open. I used chocolate gold coins, ring pops, rock candy as diamonds and mint candies as pearls to fill it. I threw in a few rolos as more gold and topped it off with beaded necklaces that the kids got to keep. The straps, lock and map were all made from fondant and I used edible markers to draw the map.
