Thank you, I used a wooden skewer for the barrel. Just dampened it with water slightly and threaded it through a fondant "snake" then just roll it lightly on the bench for a smooth finish. Trim it straight on the ends, let dry then insert the other end of the skewer into the cake. You need a long skewer because it is quite heavy. :)
