My first attempt at a book cake - so I call it a pop up cake! There are so many of this couple's interests on the cake, so it means nothing to anyone except to this couple. They both turned 70 within two weeks of each other and asked me to do a cake for them. Dark chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and buttercream iced. All fondant details. She is from Bemidji, MN, and they met as children there, so I started with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, and he's from St. Louis, So I connected those two cities with the Mississippi River. Then my husband informs me the river isn't blue but brown - oh well :)
