First ever attempt at carving a cake......the carving went pretty well, but covering it in fondant however was a disaster!!! Normally, I would just post the pic that looks the best, but in hopes that someone can give me advice, I'm gonna show the flaws :-S..... Here is what happened, when I covered the top part of the hat with fondant, it began to crack and tear......I then tried to patch it with thin thin layers of fondant and water, which of course still looked bad....luckily when I painted the hat it made it look less noticeable, but I still wasn't satisfied with the finished product :( HELP PLEASE!!!!
