Darth Vader
This was a very last minute order, so I didn't have time to do the helmet ahead of time and let it get hard. So it kinda looks like Darth is wearing a hood... I shouldn't have held back on the black food colouring, as it all got peeled off before it was cut anyways. Underneath the fondant is "Burnt Scalp Red" buttercream. Fun little detail and a big hit! Darth is chocolate with chocolate amaretto frosting, and "Noooo!" is vanilla with cream cheese frosting. Thanks for looking!
Good Job, and very funny.
great idea! Looks great too! Well done!
Great Darth. How did you carve him and what size cakes did you use???
great cake. funniest one i have seen in a while!
I stacked three 8" round (3" deep) cakes and then carved it out. The "cheekbones" had to be added though, with a cake crumb/icing paste and then fondant overtop. Drove 3 bamboo skewers through the middle. I surfed the web for pictures of Darth at various angles to help make an accurate carve. Thanx!
