In album: chocolate
This was made for a friend that another friend had played a practical joke on - hanging these on his truck. This friend had requested that I make him a hot milk cake ~ which I did ~ he didn't specify what to decorate it with. I used a chocolate transfer and whipped icing with chocolate rocks. It was a hit!

I forgot to mention that I actually got the idea for this from another site. It fit the circumstances too well to pass up!

Thanx! :D I had never heard of a hot milk cake until this request. I did a search on the internet and found a recipe. You use scalded milk to make the cake. It is a light fluffy cake (if you don't overbake it like i did - thank goodness for the simple syrup). You also use lemon extract which gives it a lemony taste. The guy I made the cake for said it tasted perfect so I must have done something right!

That sounds interesting! I will have to try it.

I'm sure it would be good with other extracts too! I used a whipped icing which I would recommend for this cake. It would also be good with fruit.
