I made this cake for a good friend and her family. Her mother is at the end of her battle with breast cancer. I wanted to make her a hummingbird cake, but it didn't come out too good. I decided to stick to what I know and made her one of my famous strawberry cakes. Come to find out that strawberries are her favorite. The icing is buttercream, but I used heavy cream instead of just whole milk. The difference is amazing. Best batch of buttercream ever!! Very easy cake to make and I think it came out pretty good for my first time using the rose technique.
