Buck is just that...a 10 point buck. I've included pictures of the structure to help people see how he was built. If I do another one of these, I will also drill holes next to the antlers for ears as they did NOT make it to the event and threatened to ruin the entire cake. He was made with red velvet cake- 12, 10, 9, 8, and 6 inch single layers. The top of the neck and head were RKT. All airbrushed buttercream (hair texture by brushing set buttercream with dampened pastry brush) with fondant eyes, (ears), and nose. He is my first PVC structure, RKT, and airbrushed cake. The antlers were built on a wire structure, wrapped in foil, then wrapped in masking tape, and then brushed with royal icing.

Amazing! How did you get the cake around the PVC...and was the head all RKT?
MJTKNT 5/17/11 at 10:55pm
I melted marshmallows and brushed them onto the pvc with a spoon, and then stuck the RKT to it. Head was all RKT to the base of the chin.

This is actually amazing. How you made a structure like this - without it falling and having all sorts of trouble, is beyond me. Great job!
