This was for a competition. I entered it in the all buttercream category (which includes the board). I hand painted the wood-grain board (coloring gel on buttercream). The boot straps are embossed. I used brush embroidery (for the first time) on the stars. The buckle is a frozen buttercream transfer (because I wanted to paint it with luster dust). It was all done free-hand with the exception of the stars which I used a cookie cutter to imprint on the cake and then over-piped it. I would love any comments, critiques, or suggestions.
