Oh this cake gave me grief.. probably my worst yet! I made my first batch of homemade white chocolate rolled fondant.. UURRGH.. it started snowing and the temps dropped and the fondant kept going so freakin firm it was impossible to work with.. thus the need for the draping around the bottom of the tiers - there was more folding in my fondant than a curtain store! However, I arrive at the venue to find the tables set up so rustic and Australian.. and notice that the chairs are wrapt with hessian bows! My draped ribbon on the cake blended perfectly.. Happy ending :)

This would have to be the most rusticly stunning cake that I have ever seen. My words cannot explain how great it is. So brilliantly different, but still elegant. Love everything about it. You should be sooo happy with yourself. All the frustration had obviously paid off. Could you please explain how the flowers & other decorations were created? Regards & thanks for sharing. from Victoria, Australia :o :D :D

Your cake is stunning! I think the draping adds so much more to your cake . Looks like it should be in a magazine!

Sometimes the cakes that give us the most grief turn out the most unique and beautiful because we have to do things we wouldn't normally do. The difficult fondant was meant to be because your cake turned out magnificent!

This is INCREDIBLE!!! :o You should be incredibly proud of your beautiful work. Sometimes the detours we have to take on the way to our destinations lead us to an even better finish! for example the frustrations with the cake and the fondant lead to a beautiful detail on the cake that just adds to its beauty! Congrats on a great job!

Gorgeous. I'm normally a stickler for everything being edible on a cake, but this is perfect! Rustic yet sophisticated at the same time - not an easy look to pull off! Great job!
