This is 2 7 X 11 inch cakes with rice crispy treat lid (thanks boween). Chocolate bc frosting with yellow fondant accents. Added gold candy coins, candy necklace, ring pops and fondant pearls.
Your cake is great. I've been trying to find ideas for my son's birthday cake and I have to tell you, he just came in the room and said "Oh mom let me see that cake.....Awesome!!!" He also wanted to know if the coins were real gold.
This is awesome. I just tried to make one and my lid keeps sliding backwards. I made sure it wasn't at the end but it keeps moving. I also couldn't keep my lid up as high. Can you give some advice?

WOW! this is amazing!
how did you get the lid to stay up?? I love this cake!
Used dowel sticks in bottom cake and rested board on top of them. Make sure the top is not sitting right on the edge of the cake.
thanks!!!
Very nice job, looks great.
This is adorable!!

THey would still be in my pocket if they were. But almost as good--solid chocolate!!!!
Love it! What a fun cake idea. This is very cute!
Great work very pretty!! ;-D
That looks really great. What kind of pan did you use for the lid/rice krispy treats?
I just covered cardboard with white contact paper (7 X 11") and shaped the rice krispies on it.
That's fantastic! I've been looking around for treasure chest ideas, and I have to say that one takes the cake ;)
