My First Fondant Cake
This is my first try at covering a complete cake with fondant. This is a display cake for a bridal show Iam doing in two weeks, had some issues, I used wilton fondant because its cheaper than my Satin Ice, it dried out soooo bad, had lots of wrinkles, the flaws in the styrofoam showed thru the fondant. I had a cake decorator friend from Nigeria come and help guide me thru this we aren't sure why we had sooo many problems!

that's gorgeous! you should put a few pink fresh roses on the top for the show maybe? I like using fresh flowers on display cakes. People aren't sure if they are real! It brings them over for a closer inspection.
Lovely cake...I've seen this one before. I would stay away from flowers for this one...doesn't call for them...

I agree with Godiva regarding the flowers, I think they would conflict with the rest of the design, but I do think the top needs something. Maybe a fondant bow just to complete the look? I think it looks fantastic by the way. Great job

After working with Satin Ice I could never go back to Wilton. It dries out way too fast! You worked it out though. Very pretty result!
