Advaced Flowers Class

Advaced Flowers Class on Cake Central

This is the end result of a class I teach fMichael's. The last class I taught I had one student and this was her final cake after 6 weeks of work. It contains more than 20 types of flowers that we created in the class and then the last session I helped her assemble the cake andshe arranged the flowers she'd made over the last 5 weeks.

Whoa. Apparently yout advanced flowers class was different than mine. That's awesome! How'd she male the eucalyptus looking greenery?

That is so gorgeous. Great job. I didn't even know about an advanced flowers class. I will need to check that out!

Suela - it's not a Wilton class. I wrote the course using some old Wilton Books and some flowers from Colette Peters, to give a little more variety. All the flowers you see are made with royal icing and then mounted on toothpicks, except for the baby's breath, leaves, and eucalyptus, which are made directly on wire

This is by far one of the prettiest cakes I have seen. It is so different.. Which Wilton books did you use for the flowers? How did you start teaching this class at Michaels?

I used Wilton books from the 70's along with the Wilton Encyclopedia of Cake Decorating Volume 1....gotta love E-Bay. I started the class because I had people who wanted more classes after Course 3 from Wilton. I currently teach at the Michael's in Spartanburg, SC, and have been there for 5 years and taught around 530 or so students at last count (all cake classes I offer).

Stunning cake! Teach me! Teach me! I'd take this class from you in a heart beat. Hopefully more Wilton teachers will follow your lead. Outstanding job!

This cake is beautiful. I'd take your classes with no problem.I have been looking for classes that go beyond course 3 but cannot find any. Maybe will have to follow your idea and get the books and try to teach myself. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
