Today was "Take your sons and daughters to work," day. I adopted two 6th grade girls from the school I work at and we went to work in the cakery. They each did a fantastic job and I can see cake decorating in their future. Bottom tier is a 7" single layer, sliced and filled with a 5 " single layer on top, sliced and filled. Girls learned how to tort, ice, crumb coat and stack a mini wedding cake. They each sketched out a planning drawing. Each girl designed the cakes in size, style, shape and color. I'm proud of them! They did a great job!
