My first attempt at making cake pops. I know I'll be making more because they were so tasty! Chocolate cake mixed with chocolate buttercream and dipped in candy coating, topped with Easter sprinkles.
Thanks! You just bake a cake, mix in some frosting (I used chocolate buttercream I had leftover from another cake) until it is the right consistency to roll into balls and stick. You melt some chocolate or candy coating pieces (like the Wilton ones at Michaels), dip the end of a sucker stick in the chocolate and stick it halfway into one side of each ball. Then put the balls in the freezer for a little while so they can set up. When they are firm, take them out and dip them, then decorate.
I just used some Easter-themed sprinkles to decorate, but you could do little chicks or something instead. There are tons of ideas out there! Also, bakerella.com has great instructions on her website (that's what I used).
