This cake was my entry into "Let Them Eat Cake" in Philadelphia, which is a local wedding cake competition and cake-tasting charity event. 40 pastry chefs compete and almost 1,000 people attended! I did not win anything. *sniff* But my heart was pretty tied up in this couple by the time I finished. The theme was "Historical Romance: Love in Any Age" so my "historical couple" was during World War II.
