redred, fondant so large is and can be an issue but I guess practice helps, this is the 3rd 14inch cake we have done so that certainly helped. The rope border is fabric... Thanks Tash, this is one of my favs of ours. No problems baking the 14inch although its the largest we can do in our oven. It took somewhere between 4-5 hours and we dropped the temp at the start to ensure the white choc mud cake did not brown too much on the edges.
