Just finished making my granddaughter's birthday cake a little while ago. Part of her 'gift' was to help decorate the cake. This was a first for both of us making a three tiered cake all out of fondant. (I hate working with fondant-I'm so old, I'm still back in the dark ages with piping). Anyway, she poured through every zebra, animal print picture she could find on this site, and saved the ones that she really liked and then we incorporated those into her cake, so thanks to all of you very talented decorators for your inspiration. Needless to say, my granddaughter loves her cake, (in spite of all of our flaws in making it)!! I did learn that I actually like making gum paste figures...a whole lot more than making gum paste flowers.
