My first attempt at a 3D cake. Made this for my daughter's first birthday. I used her favorite stuff animal and her birthday hat as inspiration. Cake made using Wilton 3D Bear pan, and Paula Dean's pound cake recipe. I cut off the ears and used it as a tail. I also covered the "paws" with orange fondant. The bow is made of gum-paste with edible pearls, and the hat is a sugar cone covered with gum-paste and painted with luster dust. I messed up the Wilton butter cream recipe so it melted and didn't get the fur effect I was going for.
