This was a "just for fun" cake. I wanted to make something winter themed. Penguins & sea lion are all made from fondant that was left over from another project.

I used SatinIce fondant (which by the way tastes great when used to cover cakes). They dried really hard. Since the fondant gets pretty warm when rolling in in your hands it smoothes itself out.

That is so adorable!! My daughter is in LOVE with penguins and this would be perfect for her second birthday! Did you use the sports ball pan for the igloo? How did you get the texture in the frosting on the igloo?
