Bass Fishing Bride

The bride is made out of chocolate and vanilla swirl cake, covered with fondant with little patterns I made out of a star/flower tip. The doll part is actually a Barbie doll that I removed her legs (sorry Barbie). I tilted the torso back so it would look like she was really fighting the reel the bass in. The bottom sheet cake is a 24X18. It's my mom's triple chocolate fudge receipe. I iced the sheet cake with white butter flavored icing, then made my little pond. After I placed the bride and my Bass. I mixed shaved chocolate into vanilla icing with brown icing tint. The little rocks are actually milk chocolate candy rocks from Wal-mart. As for the Bass I wished I could say I made it out of cake or rice crispies but I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. I carved it out of white styrofoam then painted it would icing tint and pearl dust. My little pond lillies I formed out of colored gum paste. The lure in the bass' mouth is made out of gum paste painted with icing tint. Everyone at the wedding really loved this cake but I'm kind of curious what people who have experience think. This is my first cake other than doll cakes and plain iced sheet cakes
