Castle
Thanks to all with Castle Cakes for my inspiration. This was my first stacked cake. What a job that is. I used buttercream all over. The hardest part was the frosting the paper towel rolls. I used a toothpick to "etch" (yeah right that doesn't work too well) stone all over and it took me two hours. I didn't have the cool tool that some of you talked about in your photos. I was short on time, I need to plan better, and didn't do a very good job on the flowers. But the little girl I made it for loved it.
Bottom cake is 10" and top cake is 7.5". Thanks for the comments... :P
beaufitul castle. If you had extra batter, use a washed out soup can to make the towers.
Thanks for that tip...i will use it!!!
looks wonderful!!
Wow, this is awesome!
I think that your stones looks realistic. Great job!
Good work, and I love the little finger headed for the cake too!!
Awesome! How did you make the stone look?
I made the stone look with a toothpick. It took over an hour just for that part. I am very new to all of this and I read on someone else's castle cake comments that there is a special tool for doing this. I am not sure though. Something to look into since this way takes soooo long.
looks good!
Very pretty!!! I think you did a awesome job!!
Don't be so hard on yourself! It looks great! What size are your cakes?
Great job! I just did a castle cake and know how much work it is! I love the touch of the flowers ;-D
