Ok, so I thought I would try it in fondant. It worked! I used royal icing to keep the towers in place and the cake had a 15 mile journey to its destination and made it in one piece with NO 'fixing' required at the venue. The birthday girl...and her parents were overjoyed!!! Will definitely do it again :-))
