Cap & Diploma
Idea from this site. Not sure who orginally posted it. Made for my mother who just received her GED at age 42 (she had me at 15, brother at 17)!!!! I wanted the cake to reflect her accomplisment....it is NOT just a piece of paper!! The image is my mother's actual diploma!! The blue is the color of her cap & gown she wore when she walked!! Was such a wonderful feeling to see my mother walk across the stage and turn her tassle to show she is now a graduate!!! YEAH MOM!!! TFL!!

thanks for the nice comments!! the top of the cap is cardborad covered w/fondant. the tassle is made w/a gralic press.
My mother has been working towards the same thing. I can only imagine the happiness that you and your mother felt inside. It is a wonderful thing no matter when you get it! You did a beautiful job. ;-D
