This is the Hellboy cake I made for the Showcake category for That Takes The Cake 2011 in Austin, TX. I'm a beginner with no work cake experience and have only been making cakes since August of 2010 and this was my first show competition entry so I was super happy to place in the top 10! I placed 8th. :) He started to come apart pretty early on, poor Hellboy! I learned so much at the show and it was so fun!

His forearms and head are rice cereal treats and the rest is Devil's Food cake (which I thought was perfect for Hellboy) and he is covered in homemade marshmallow fondant.
