This was a very time consuming cake but besides my 2nd teir being a little lopsided it turned out well for my 1st attempt I assume. I did this cake for a friend for $130 and she loved it despite the lean. I would not do this cake again for less than $200

i'll be making this cake next wk for a friend and i would like to know, how did you set up the wilton carousel set? and what size cakes did you use?

I used a 12" square and a 10" round however I do not recommend these sizes . After putting fondant on I fhad a hard time sttacking them it was just to close in size. The top of the carousel is 9" so you need a 10" round but I would do a 14" square next time. The horses and the carousel top took a good 2-3 hours so plan on working on these throughout the week perhaps? IAfter alot of trial and error I found it easier to cover the top of the caousel in 3 strips rather than one long strip like the

directions state to do. I used water and paintbrush to attach fondant to horses and top, the horses are tedious! and you need to pruch the fondant with a good amount of water to make them stick. I decorated my square tier and put in my support dowels using the 10" cake plate with the kit as direction on were to put them. After decorating my round tier I lightly set the carousel top on my round so that it would mark my fondant wear the horses would go. I decorated my horses and

put them on their poles and transported everything seperate (your horses will leave marks on your fondant very easily) When I got to party I stacket my cake insertec the poles were I marked my fondant and then set the top on. It does not secure to the poles it literally sits on top so make sure yourr poles are nice and straiight, it will hold the weight so do not worry. Take a picture andlet me know how it went!
