Love this! Did you glue the glass cake stands to the boards, or are they just sitting on them? Great job. :D

So elegant...where did you find the square crystal pedestals?
kimmisue2009 2/23/11 at 7:28am

Beautiful! I'm also curious about the structure of your beautiful stnd. Would you mind sharing what size boards you used and how many cupcakes fit on this stand?
SweetSouthernBakery 2/23/11 at 7:33am
Love the cupcakes. I have a small cake and 200 cupcakes to do for a wedding very soon and the idea is very similar to this. Thanks for sharing. I do have one question for you though. I have been trying to figure out what kind of tip that makes this swirl but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help on this would be great. And agian so cute.

Thank you everyone! Now, on the the questions. I got 96 cupcakes on this stand plus the topper. I think the bottom tier was 20". I wanted wider but the 1/2 foam board only comes that wide. I took 3" off going up. The cake pedestals were a gift from my husband and mother. They don't all match but the three middel do. The top "pedestal" is an upside down sundae glass. I used clear silicon to glue the boards onto the pedestals then after that had dried really good, lined up the bases by markin...

"X" in the center of the boards, putting it together and checking that all pedestals were lined up front and side then I drew around the base. I put half of this together at home with silicon on the bottom of the pedestals and a "bead" of silicon like you would caulk your tub. Once I got on-site, I completered it. Also, the second and third plateau are the same size but the boards on them are not. Hope this answers everyone's questions. Thanks again for your kind comments.

looking at the cake pedestals i have a 8 in and 10 in just like the 2nd 3rd and 4th are the three that are a like 10 in ...the 5th you cannt see is it the same size i have used like the two sided tape do you think that would hold them
Daisy1 2/24/11 at 7:33pm
I used white contact paper and silicon. I don't think double sided tape would hold well enough to risk losing my pedestals.

How were the cupcakes on the side of the picture stacked?
