My very first fish and this one didn't get away! Cake is vanilla w/ buttercream icing. I made some rice krispy treats and formed the body of the fish, in two parts (head & tail), covered them in buttercream and then modeling chocolate to get the character of the fish started on the head. I then covered them w/ fondant and carved in the details of the scales and gills.. I made the fins and cat-tails out of modeling chocolate and painted the fish using edible paint, a paint brush and my favorite tool (papertowels). This was a really fun cake to do.
